FishCribs

In the summer of 2005 Ford Lake was drained to repair the flow control structure for the dam. With the lake's bottom exposed, we observed that there was very little structer on the bottom of the lake. FERM students constructed fish cribs out of pulpwood logs and rebar. Holes were bored down the corners of the cribs, and rebar was run down the length of the structure to tie the logs together. In the winter of 2006/2007 the cribs were moved onto the now frozen lake and filled with large rocks. During the spring melt the structures sunk to the bottom and are now home to brook trout.
