Ford Lake Timbersale

The Ford Lake Timbersale covers approximately 120 acres on the east side of US-41 across from the town of Alberta. The part of the sale lying North of Ford Lake has not been thinned in at least 20 years and is overdue. FERM Activities include:

Winter/Spring 2007

• Developed GIS maps and a cruise grid for the property
• Cruised property and developed a marking guide
• Started tree marking on the south side of Ford Lake

Summer 2007

• Established buffer zone around Ford Lake
• Finished tree marking south of Ford Lake
• Started tree marking North of Ford Lake

Fall 2007

• Continued tree marking on North Side of Ford Lake. As of November 8th, 2007, there are about 15 more acres to be marked. Once marking is complete, the sale will be bid out for harvest during hte winter of 2007/2008.
